Role Description The Senior Public Relations Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Tampa, FL, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic PR campaigns, drafting and distributing press releases, and managing ongoing media relations across traditional and digital channels. The specialist will proactively identify story opportunities, pitch to journalists and influencers, and coordinate interviews, press events, and speaking engagements for clients. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring media coverage, managing reputation and crisis communications, collaborating with internal marketing and social media teams, and reporting on campaign performance. The role also involves advising clients on communication strategies, ensuring brand consistency, and contributing to content and messaging for websites, social media, and other marketing materials.

Qualifications

• Strong public relations and media relations skills, including experience building and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
• Expertise in press release development and strategic communications, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and newsworthy messaging.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and channels.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute integrated PR campaigns, including monitoring, measurement, and performance reporting.
• Experience with crisis communications, reputation management, and issues response in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with digital marketing, social media platforms, and content marketing best practices that support PR objectives.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients or initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior agency (5 years) or multi-client environment experience at a senior or lead level or broadcast media experience i s highly beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting, exercising sound judgment and maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
